An incorporated solicitors practice offering legal services

Work Experience

Thea Limited welcomes students who are considering a career in law for short-term work experience placements.

I would however encourage students to read my contribution to the website All About Law to understand the nature and typical pattern of my work.

The company operates partly out of a Central London office in the Strand opposite the Royal Courts of Justice, and partly from a home-office in my flat in New Cross.  I do work and see clients at both according to convenience.  Work is also not neatly bound within the hours of 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday:  mobile phones and the internet see to that.

My particular need at the moment is for help in "getting the word out" about the service I can provide to potential clients.  I am therefore particularly interested to hear from students who think that they can understand and articulate the nature of the "product" that I am offering to the market, and sell it over the telephone and in meetings with me.  From your perspective, if you are a student looking for opportunities, it is a good test of whether this area of legal practice really interests you as much as you think it might at first.

In return, I will try to involve you in the active cases that I am working on as far as possible.  This would include accompanying me to court and to meetings with clients and other parties where such are scheduled.  Office work would, however, be the norm, and I would encourage you to carry out legal research using both the internet and conventional law libraries such as the one at the Law Society, and to turn your findings into real advice for real clients.  We have several barristers who also work from 218 Strand, and who have shown themselves willing to engage with my work experience students; we might even be able to arrange an impromptu simulated court hearing to test your conclusions!

Please feel free to drop me a line with a copy of your CV if this would be of interest to you.
